I've been reading about Marla Ruzicka this morning.
What a crying shame. At 28 this young woman had already performed more good than most of us will in our entire lives.
At any rate, read about the work Ms. Ruzica was doing and then donate something to her organization, CIVIC Worldwide.

I did not know her. What I did know of her came to me through news stories.
I became saddened with the news reports of her death. I mentioned it to several people. Some of them never heard of her or her work.
After I explained who she was and the work she performed, I directed them to the stories themselves. Generally their reactions were the same.
